Mobile Lifestyle & Services
Telecommunications developed around fixed and mobile interpersonal communications, then on the Internet and the high-speed communication of documents on landline phones. Their new sector of growth is built around mobile, nomadic multimedia content sharing that will become a predominant part of the market and of added-value within a few years. The diversity of medias and terminals, and the immense potential of services, create organizational and market development problems in terms of structuring interfaces and the usages. These are the problems shared by the producers and editors of content, telecom operators, and the makers of the terminals, who must face a co-development of the market.
The cluster’s ambition is to bring the actors together for testing advanced technologies and innovative services, observing and analyzing lifestyles in their ergonomic, security, utility, ethics, legal, and acceptability dimensions.
Resting on a rich fabric of industrial R&D, technological research, and social and human sciences, the community’s goal is to create communication, service, and usage environments for nomad users with: ergonomic access to rich multimedia content, cooperation with nomad user groups, interaction with communicating environments, and the management of the rights, security, and confidentiality of their communications. These are the elements that will enable the community members to build and experiment services for the Digital City. The first step is building the experimental, observation, and research platforms for usages that will support the partners’ shared or specific programs for services and products.
