30 days from its official launch, Futur en Seine 2011 is as real as ever.

Building on the outstanding success of its first edition in 2009, the Festival for Digital Life and Creativity is back from the 17th to the 26th of June 2011 in Paris and the Paris Region.

Futur en Seine is about bringing together the general public and creatives from the digital industries to discuss, explore, build and celebrate a common digital future. A huge variety of workshops, exhibitions, prototypes, set walks, conferences, screenings, off-festival events and soirées will be organised all around Paris over seven days. These diverse, complementary activities underpin a solid festival program that puts to the limelight the region’s potential while welcoming many inputs from renowned contributors based abroad. Future en Seine addresses our digital future by breaking it down to five major fields that involve us all: Life, Music and Image, Creation, Communications, and the City.

Futur en Seine 2011 is

-          100 locations in the Paris Region, of which many prestigious venues: Hôtel de Ville, Collège de France, 104, Gaîté Lyrique, Forum des Images, Ecole Normale Supérieure…

-          24 innovative prototypes to test and discover.

-          A cycle of international conferences and workshops.

-          Speakers of international repute, of whom Everyware author Adam Greenfield, FabLab inventor Neil Gershenfeld, McLuhan associate Derrick de Kerckhove, futurist and molecular biologist Joël de Rosnay and many more…

-          The second edition of the European Street Design Challenge, first organised at PICNIC2010 in Amsterdam.

-          Delegations from world class cities such as Tokyo, Brazil, Amsterdam, London, Vienna, Berlin, and Copenhagen, in Paris to present their visionary and innovative digital services and technologies.

-          Four set routes through the city (Quartier Latin, around the Bastille, from Beaubourg to the “Bourse”, and from Villette to Pantin) to explore the festival and the city of lights.

-          A variety of surprising, entertaining off-festival events.

-          Plenty of nightlife, of which a pinnacle closing evening featuring a gigantic “BOOM-box”, on the Enghien lake.
